How to use this calculator

Enter the price and quantity of each pack. Use the same unit for both quantities: for example kilograms, litres or pieces. Convert 500 grams to 0.5 kilograms before comparing it with a 1-kilogram pack.

Calculation

Unit price = pack price ÷ pack quantity.

Example

Pack A costs 150 for 5 kg: 30 per kg. Pack B costs 280 for 10 kg: 28 per kg. Pack B is 6.67% cheaper per kg.

What to keep in mind

This compares price per unit only. Product quality, delivery charges and how much you will actually use can affect your decision.

Your numbers are calculated in this browser. No account needed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compare 500 g with 1 kg?

Yes, after converting 500 g to 0.5 kg. Both quantity inputs must use the same unit.

How is the saving percentage calculated?

The difference between the unit prices is divided by the higher unit price. It measures how much cheaper the lower price is relative to the higher one.

Should I always buy the cheaper-per-unit pack?

Consider quality, storage, spoilage, delivery costs and available cash. The calculator only compares entered prices and quantities.
